With the Moneris Checkout Extension, merchants can accept and process online payments through their Magento website, easily and securely. No additional payment processing solution is needed with this extension. Your customer will remain on your website throughout the payment process, making it a seamless customer experience. It is also hosted by Moneris which means less risk for you as you don’t have to handle any sensitive card data.

Security

Moneris Checkout is hosted by Moneris, on a PCI-Compliant infrastructure. This means that the payment page where cardholder data is entered, and where the payment is processed and settled, is all managed on Moneris’ secure servers; sensitive cardholder data does not pass through your servers nor is it ever shared with Magento or WooCommerce, so there is less risk for you.

Built-in Fraud Tools

Supports fraud tools including min/max spends, 3-DSecure, Moneris Kount, AVS and CVV.
Transaction limits control the minimum and maximum dollar amounts that can be charged for any one order submitted by a customer in the checkout.
3-D Secure provides real-time authentication of an online shopper to their card issuer through Visa® Secure and MasterCard Identity Check®.
Moneris Kount proactively detects fraud before it occurs, using predictive modeling and risk scoring to analyze and assess customers in real-time.
Address Verification Service (AVS) matches the address the customer provided to the address on record with the issuing card bank.
Card Verification Value (CVV) confirms the customer knows the 3-4 digit code on the card provided, and validates it with what is on record with the issuing card bank.
Determine whether to allow Moneris to manage auto-decisioning with regards to how transaction requests are handled and processed through your checkout.

Your Transaction Type Options

Manage your transactions and how you want to receive your payments through the Merchant Resource Center. Your options include Purchase and Preauthorization.

If you select Purchase as your payment transaction type, the payment will automatically be captured. This means the funds on the cardholder's card are verified, removed from the account and prepared to be deposited into your merchant account.

If, on the other hand, you choose Preauthorization, the funds are temporarily locked in the customer’s account for a specified amount of time or until the merchant sends a completion request, at which time the completion of the payment is authorized and funds are removed from the cardholder’s account. Completion requests can be performed on either the Merchant Resource Centre, through Magento, or WooCommerce platforms.

After a payment has been authorized, merchants can void the preauthorization payment through the Merchant Resource Center to release the funds being temporarily held.

Merchants can easily and quickly issue a customer refund, in full or in part, on either the Merchant Resource Centre, through Magento, or WooCommerce platforms.

Getting Started

Download and install the Moneris Checkout Extension.

Follow the steps in the Installation Guide to set up and configure Moneris Checkout into your website.

ENGLISH (VERSION FRANÇAISE CI-DESSOUS)

The following agreement ("Agreement") is between you and Moneris Solutions Corporation ("Moneris") and governs your use of the payment plugin and any other software made available to you by Moneris for downloading and installing (the "Software"). You must agree to the terms of the Agreement before you use the Software. You agree to the terms of the Agreement by actually receiving, installing, copying, downloading or otherwise using the Software or by clicking "I Agree". If you do not agree to the terms of the Agreement, do not use the Software. You should print or otherwise save a copy of the Agreement for your records. For good and valuable consideration, the sufficiency of which is hereby acknowledged by you and Moneris, the parties agree as follows:

If you are obtaining the Software on behalf of a merchant, you represent that you are duly authorized to represent the merchant and enter into the Agreement for yourself and on behalf of the merchant.
Moneris reserves the right to update or change the terms of the Agreement from time to time and requires that you review on a regular basis the terms of the Agreement which are made available to you. If Moneris updates or changes the terms of the Agreement, your continued use of the Software thereafter constitutes your acceptance of the revisions. If you do not agree to the changes to the terms of the Agreement then you will immediately discontinue use of the Software.
You agree to use the Software solely in connection with the payment processing services that Moneris provides under one or more Moneris merchant processing agreements (as each such agreement may be amended, restated, supplemented or otherwise modified from time to time, each a “Merchant Agreement” and collectively, the “Merchant Agreements”). You agree that any transactions processed using the Software are subject to the terms and conditions of the Merchant Agreements.
Moneris grants to you a revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable, limited license for the Software as provided for download to your device and in accordance with the Agreement (the "License").
The Software is licensed and not sold to you by Moneris and you agree to use the Software in accordance with the terms of the Agreement. Moneris and its licensors reserve all rights not expressly granted to you in the Agreement. You acknowledge and agree that Moneris and/or its licensors own all legal right, title and interest in and to the Software, including without limitation, any copyright, trade-mark, patent and trade secret rights that exist therein.
You agree that you will not copy the Software or disclose or distribute the Software to third parties. You further agree that you will not directly or indirectly rent, lease, lend, sublicense, assign or transfer the Software to a third party.
You agree that Moneris has no obligation to provide training, maintenance, or other assistance for the Software.
You agree not to remove, alter or destroy any proprietary, trademark or copyright markings of confidentiality placed upon or contained within the Software. You also agree not to, directly or indirectly, modify, translate, reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble the Software or otherwise derive the source code from the Software or any component thereof or create derivative works that are based on, copy or integrate the Software.
You acknowledge and agree that Moneris and its licensors may, at any time change, suspend, remove or disable access to the Software (collectively, the "Modifications"). Without limiting any other provision of the Agreement, in no event will Moneris be liable for the removal of or disabling of access to the Software. In the event of any Modifications, you agree to immediately install and use any patches and fixes made available from Moneris. You agree that Moneris may impose limits on the use of the Software, in any case and without notice or liability.
You agree to strictly follow any instructions that Moneris provides to you from time to time in connection with use of the Software, including without limitation any instructions contained in the documentation related to the Software.
You agree that your rights under this License will terminate automatically without notice from Moneris upon your failure to comply with the Agreement. Upon the termination of this License, you agree to cease all use of the Software and destroy all copies, full or partial of the Software.
You are responsible for any fees imposed by your telecommunications service provider and Internet service provider of any kind.
YOU EXPRESSELY ACKNOWLEDGE AND AGREE THAT USE OF THE SOFTWARE IS AT YOUR SOLE RISK AND THAT THE ENTIRE RISK AS TO SATISFACTORY QUALITY, PERFORMANCE, ACCURACY OF THE SOFTWARE IS WITH YOU TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW. YOU ACCEPT THE SOFTWARE “AS IS”, WITH ALL FAULTS AND WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND. MONERIS HEREBY DISCLAIMS ALL WARRANTIES AND CONDITIONS, WHETHER STATUTORY, WRITTEN, ORAL, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING, BUT NOT LIMITED TO, IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, OR NON-INFRINGEMENT. MONERIS DOES NOT WARRANT THAT THE SOFTWARE IS ERROR-FREE OR THAT THE OPERATION OF THE SOFTWARE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED. MONERIS DOES NOT WARRANT THAT THE SOFTWARE WILL ALWAYS BE AVAILABLE.
You agree to indemnify Moneris and its affiliates, licensors, officers, directors, shareholders, employees, agents and advisors from and against any and all liabilities, claims or counter claims, losses, judgments, damages, costs and expenses (including, without limitation, reasonable legal fees) arising out of or relating to: (i) your use (or misuse) of the Software; or (ii) any violation by you of this Agreement. This obligation shall survive the termination or expiration of the Agreement and/or your use of the Software.
You agree that Moneris and its affiliates, licensors, officers, directors, shareholders, employees, agents and advisors shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, special or punitive damages of any kind (including without limitation, damages for personal injury, loss of revenue, goodwill, sales, or profits, business interruption, loss of business information or any other pecuniary loss) in connection with or arising out of: (i) the use or inability to use any the Software: (ii) any changes made to the Software or any part thereof; (iii) the Agreement; and (iv) any other matter relating to the Software, no matter how caused, even if Moneris has been advised of the possibility of such damages.
Should any provision of the Agreement be determined to be invalid or unenforceable under any law, rule or regulation, that determination will not affect the validity or enforceability of any other provision of the Agreement.
For greater certainty, this Agreement is in addition to and does not in any way replace the terms and conditions in the Merchant Agreements. This Agreement does not operate as a waiver of any right, power or remedy of Moneris under the Merchant Agreements nor constitute a waiver of any provision of the Merchant Agreements.
The Agreement will be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Province of Ontario and the laws of Canada applicable therein, without regard to the principles of conflicts of law or the United Nations Convention for Contracts for the International Sale of Goods, which is explicitly excluded, and shall be treated in all respects as an Ontario contract. You and Moneris hereby irrevocably and unconditionally attorn to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of the Province of Ontario.
Moneris may terminate the Agreement at any time.
You covenant and agree that the Software will be used exclusively in Canada.
You agree that the Software (including related documentation and materials) and any information disclosed by Moneris to you in connection with the Software will be considered and referred to as “Moneris Confidential Information”. Unless otherwise expressly agreed or permitted in writing by Moneris, you agree not to disclose, publish or disseminate any Moneris Confidential Information to anyone. You further agree to take reasonable precautions to prevent any unauthorized use, disclosure, publication or dissemination of Moneris Confidential Information.

FRANÇAIS

Le présent contrat (le « Contrat ») est conclu entre vous et Corporation Solutions Moneris (« Moneris ») et régit votre utilisation du module d’extension de paiement et de tout autre logiciel qui vous sont fournis par Moneris à des fins de téléchargement et d’installation (le « Logiciel »). Vous devez accepter les conditions du Contrat avant d’utiliser le Logiciel. Vous acceptez les conditions du Contrat en recevant, installant, copiant, téléchargeant ou utilisant d’une quelconque manière le Logiciel ou en cliquant sur « J’accepte ». Si vous ne voulez pas accepter les conditions du Contrat, n’utilisez pas le Logiciel. Vous devez imprimer ou enregistrer une copie du Contrat pour vos dossiers. Moyennant bonne et valable contrepartie, dont la réception et la suffisance sont reconnues par Moneris et vous, les parties conviennent de ce qui suit :

Si vous obtenez le Logiciel au nom d’un commerçant, vous déclarez que vous êtes dûment autorisé à représenter le commerçant et à conclure le Contrat pour vous-même et en son nom.
Moneris se réserve le droit de mettre à jour ou de modifier les conditions du Contrat de temps à autre et exige que vous examiniez régulièrement les conditions du Contrat qui sont mises à votre disposition. Si Moneris met à jour ou modifie les conditions du Contrat, votre utilisation continue du Logiciel par la suite constitue votre acceptation de ces modifications. Si vous n’acceptez pas les modifications apportées aux conditions du Contrat, cessez d’utiliser le Logiciel.
Vous acceptez d’utiliser le Logiciel uniquement dans le cadre des services de traitement des paiements que Moneris fournit en vertu d’une ou de plusieurs ententes de traitement des paiements des commerçants de Moneris (chacune de ces ententes pouvant être modifiée, mise à jour, complétée ou autrement modifiée de temps à autre, chacune étant une « Entente de commerçant » et collectivement, les « Ententes de commerçant »). Vous acceptez que toutes les transactions traitées à l’aide du Logiciel soient soumises aux conditions générales des Ententes de commerçant.
Moneris vous accorde une licence limitée, révocable, non exclusive et non transférable pour le Logiciel comme elle est fournie pour le téléchargement sur votre appareil et conformément au Contrat (la « Licence »).
Moneris vous accorde une licence, elle ne vous vend pas le Logiciel, et vous acceptez d’utiliser le Logiciel conformément aux modalités du Contrat. Moneris et ses concédants se réservent tous les droits qui ne vous sont pas expressément accordés dans le Contrat. Vous reconnaissez et convenez que Moneris et ses concédants détiennent tous les droits, titres et intérêts légaux liés au Logiciel, notamment les droits d’auteur, les marques de commerce, les brevets et les secrets commerciaux qui y sont associés.
Vous vous engagez à ne pas copier le Logiciel, ni à le divulguer ou à le distribuer à des tiers. Vous acceptez également de ne pas louer, prêter, sous-licencier, céder ou transférer directement ou indirectement le Logiciel à un tiers.
Vous convenez que Moneris n’a aucune obligation de fournir une formation, une maintenance ou toute autre assistance pour le Logiciel.
Vous vous engagez à ne pas supprimer, modifier ou détruire les marques de propriété, les marques commerciales ou les marques de droits d’auteur de confidentialité affichées ou contenues dans le Logiciel. Vous vous engagez également à ne pas, directement ou indirectement, modifier, traduire, démonter, décompiler, désassembler le Logiciel, ni dériver le code source du Logiciel ou de tout composant de celui-ci, ni créer des travaux dérivés du Logiciel, ni le copier ou l’intégrer.
Vous reconnaissez et acceptez que Moneris et ses concédants peuvent, à tout moment, modifier, suspendre, supprimer ou désactiver l’accès au Logiciel (collectivement, les « Modifications »). Sans limiter toute autre disposition du Contrat, Moneris ne sera en aucun cas responsable de la suppression ou de la désactivation de l’accès au Logiciel. Dans le cadre des Modifications, vous acceptez d’installer et d’utiliser immédiatement les correctifs mis en place par Moneris. Vous acceptez que Moneris puisse mettre en place des limites à l’utilisation du Logiciel, en tout temps, et ce, sans préavis ni responsabilité.
Vous convenez de suivre à la lettre les instructions que Moneris vous fournit de temps à autre en rapport avec l’utilisation du Logiciel, notamment les instructions contenues dans la documentation relative au Logiciel.
Vous convenez qu’en cas de non-respect du Contrat, vos droits en vertu de la présente Licence prendront automatiquement fin, et ce, sans préavis de la part de Moneris. À la résiliation de la présente Licence, vous vous engagez à cesser toute utilisation du Logiciel et à détruire toutes les copies, complètes ou partielles, du Logiciel.
Il vous incombe de payer tous les frais imposés par votre fournisseur de services de télécommunications et votre fournisseur d’accès Internet.
VOUS RECONNAISSEZ ET ACCEPTEZ EXPRESSÉMENT QUE L’UTILISATION DU LOGICIEL EST À VOS PROPRES RISQUES ET QUE LE RISQUE ENTIER QUANT À LA QUALITÉ SATISFAISANTE, LA PERFORMANCE ET LA PRÉCISION DU LOGICIEL EST VOTRE RESPONSABILITÉ DANS LA MESURE MAXIMALE PERMISE PAR LA LOI APPLICABLE. VOUS ACCEPTEZ LE LOGICIEL « TEL QUEL », AVEC TOUS SES DÉFAUTS ET SANS AUCUNE FORME DE GARANTIE. MONERIS DÉCLINE PAR LES PRÉSENTES TOUTES LES GARANTIES ET CONDITIONS, QU’ELLES SOIENT LÉGALES, ÉCRITES, ORALES, EXPRESSES OU IMPLICITES, Y COMPRIS, MAIS SANS S’Y LIMITER, LES GARANTIES IMPLICITES DE QUALITÉ MARCHANDE, D’ADÉQUATION À UN USAGE PARTICULIER OU DE NON-CONTREFAÇON. MONERIS NE GARANTIT PAS QUE LE LOGICIEL EST EXEMPT D’ERREURS OU QUE LE FONCTIONNEMENT DU LOGICIEL SERA ININTERROMPU. MONERIS NE GARANTIT PAS L’ACCESSIBILITÉ CONTINUE AU LOGICIEL.
Vous convenez d’indemniser Moneris et ses sociétés affiliées, concédants, dirigeants, administrateurs, actionnaires, employés, agents et conseillers de tout jugement, responsabilité, revendication ou demande reconventionnelle, perte, dommage, coût et dépense (y compris les frais juridiques raisonnables) découlant de : (i) votre utilisation (ou mauvaise utilisation) du Logiciel; ou (ii) toute violation du présent Contrat de votre part. Cette obligation survivra à la résiliation ou à l’expiration du Contrat ou de votre utilisation du Logiciel.
Vous acceptez que Moneris et ses sociétés affiliées, concédants, dirigeants, administrateurs, actionnaires, employés, agents et conseillers ne soient pas tenus responsables des dommages directs, indirects, accessoires, consécutifs, spéciaux ou punitifs de quelque nature que ce soit (y compris les dommages corporels; la perte de revenus, de clientèle, de ventes ou de profits; l’interruption d’activités; la perte de données commerciales ou toute autre perte pécuniaire) découlant de ce qui suit : (i) l’utilisation ou l’incapacité d’utiliser le Logiciel; (ii) toute modification apportée au Logiciel, en entier ou en partie; (iii) le Contrat; et (iv) tout autre problème lié au Logiciel, quelle qu’en soit la cause, même si Moneris a été informée de la possibilité de tels dommages.
Si une disposition du Contrat est jugée non valide ou non applicable en vertu d’une loi, d’une règle ou d’un règlement, cette décision n’aura aucune incidence sur la validité ou l’applicabilité de toute autre disposition du Contrat.
En d’autres termes, le présent Contrat s’ajoute aux Ententes de commerçant et ne remplace en aucun cas leurs conditions. Le présent Contrat ne constitue pas une renonciation aux droits, pouvoirs ou recours de Moneris en vertu des Ententes de commerçant, ni une renonciation à une disposition des Ententes de commerçant.
Le Contrat sera régi et interprété conformément aux lois de la province de l’Ontario et aux lois du Canada qui y sont applicables, sans égard aux principes de conflits de lois ou à la Convention des Nations Unies sur les contrats de vente internationale de marchandises, qui est explicitement exclue, et sera traité à tous les égards comme un contrat conclu en Ontario. Vous et Moneris vous soumettez irrévocablement et inconditionnellement à la juridiction exclusive des tribunaux de la province d’Ontario.
Moneris peut mettre fin au Contrat en tout temps.
Vous reconnaissez et acceptez que le Logiciel sera utilisé exclusivement au Canada.
Vous convenez que le Logiciel (y compris la documentation et le matériel connexes) et tout renseignement que Moneris vous divulgue en rapport avec le Logiciel sont considérés comme de l’information confidentielle de Moneris. À moins que Moneris ne l’autorise expressément par écrit, vous acceptez de ne pas divulguer, publier ou diffuser de l’information confidentielle de Moneris à un tiers parti. Vous convenez en outre de prendre des précautions raisonnables pour empêcher toute utilisation, divulgation, publication ou diffusion non autorisée de l’information confidentielle de Moneris.
